For External Counterpulsation Therapy (ECP), please make sure you are free from the condition(s) stated below:
- Severe hypertension
- Irregular heartbeat
- Heart rate is less than 35 or more than 100 per minute
- Blood circulation disorder
- Localized enlargement of the abdominal aorta
- A disease that affects the lung system
- Bleeding disorders
- Blood clot forms in a vein located deep inside your body
- Local infection or vasculitis of the lower extremities
- Burns, open wounds, one fracture on lower extremities or buttocks
- Use of cardiac pacemaker
- Anti-coagulation therapy (Heparin, Coumadin, Warfarin)
- Any surgical operation within the last 6 weeks
- Any procedure used to diagnose and treat certain cardiovascular conditions within the last 2 weeks
- Pregnancy
