A high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) has proven to be a powerful predictor of heart disease risk. Elevated hs-CRP is related to increased risk for heart attack, restenosis of coronary arteries after angioplasty, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease (PVD).
