General Instructions for Medical Check Up

Kindly find the following general instructions for your reference and further action:

  • Your identity card or passport is REQUIRED for identity verification. Original PASSPORT is required for VISA Check Up.
  • It is important to get good quality sleep of at least 6 hours so that you feel rested for your health check the next day. Lack of rest can interfere with the test results.
  • You are not allowed to eat for at least 6 to 8 hours prior to the check-up.
    Intake of plain water is allowed and encouraged during this period of abstinence from solid food. Only applicable for blood test lipid profile & fasting glucose; and abdominal ultrasound.
  • Hypertension medicine should be continued prior to your visit.
  • Urine samples will be collected on the day of examination.
  • If you have a pre-existing medical condition, please bring along any test results or reports for the doctor to review and assist in diagnosis.
  • Please wear clothing that allow easy access to the upper arm for blood-taking.

# For female applicant only: If you are menstruating on the day of your test, we will postpone the pap smear (after a week of menses) and the urine test (after 5 days of menses).

  • Please wear clothing allowing access to upper arm.
  • If pregnant, Please notify our staff during registration to cancel any x-ray examination.
  • Please refrain from applying any make-up i.e. eye shadow as this will hinder the medical examination.
  • Please wear two-piece entire. This way, you can undress from the waist up and leave your pants or skirt on when you get your mammogram.
  • This is a physically active test, and you are required to bring your SPORT or JOGGING SHOES.
  • Should you need to consume any food before a stress test, please have a light snack and avoid any fatty foods, caffeine and alcohol.
  • If you are under-going treatment or taking medication for any medical or physical condition, please notify the nurse in advance.
  • If you are suffering any chest pain or breathing difficulty, please notify the nurse in advance.
  • The Ultrasound Abdomen and Pelvis REQUIRED a FULL BLADDER.
  • You are required to drink several glasses of water and avoid emptying your bladder before the ultrasound. However, you are advised NOT to keep your bladder full until INSTRUCTED TO DO SO by our staff.
  • You should schedule your appointment after one week of menstruation, when your breasts are less likely to be tender.
  • Please do not apply any powder, perfume or deodorant on your chest area and underarms.
  • Please wear loose fitting clothing that is easy to remove i.e. baggy t-shirt or tops with front buttons instead of back zippers.
  • Please bring along all mammography films and reports for comparison on your next mammography visit.
  • This test should be done a week after the last day of menstruation.
  • TWO DAYS PRIOR TO THE TEST DATE: PLEASE AVOID sexual intercourse, douching or using spermicide, tampons or vaginal creams unless instructed by a doctor. This is to prevent abnormal cells from being removed or concealed that can result in an inaccurate test.
  • Test results will be emailed to you within 10 working days, or by post upon request.
  • Please inform us when you would like to have the test so as we may arrange an appointment for you.
  • Kindly be informed that you will require two days of preparation prior to undertaking the test.
  • You will also require two packages of Fortrans to clean your bowls a day before the test.
  • You may obtain the Fleet from us directly – please advise us when so as we may arrange for it from the Specialist Clinic. It will be chargeable if the colonoscopy test is not entitled under our Life Care membership.
  • If you were to purchase the Fleet directly from the Specialist Clinic – it would be chargeable.
  • Your health screening will take Half Day to One Day, depending on the type of test you are doing, with Same Day Result and Same Day Doctor & Dietitian Consultation of your reports.
  • You may reschedule your Doctor & Dietitian Consultation to another day if you wish to do so.
  • Be punctual for your appointment.
